The first major event in the national gardening calendar, the Harrogate Spring Flower Show has now taken place at the Great Yorkshire Events Centre for 30 years, having moved from Harrogate’s Valley Gardens to keep up with growing visitor and exhibitor numbers.

Taking place in April, the Show which is organised by the North of England Horticultural Society, attracts over 40,000 visitors each year. Featuring stunning show garden features, outstanding garden shopping, and the biggest exhibition by florists and flower arrangers in the country, the event also includes live talks and demonstrations across four stages, including cookery demonstrations with homegrown produce.

With the Yorkshire Showground providing 250 acres of glorious Yorkshire Countryside and woodland, the Harrogate Spring Flower Show perfectly utilises sections of hard-standing within The Grounds along with the pillar-free event space in The Halls. The team is on site two weeks ahead of the Show, setting up a sea of marquees and creating awe-inspiring garden displays and shopping, transforming the event spaces into a gardener’s paradise.

Highlights include seeing The Halls transformed into the spectacular Floral Hall, featuring seasonal displays of stunning spring blooms from dozens of the UK’s best growers, plant nurseries and societies.

The popularity of the four-day Show sees visitors descending from across the country, making use of the Great Yorkshire Events Centre’s central location, close proximity to the A1(M) and free parking for up to 2,000 cars along with multiple EV charging stations.
